Be Heard: Quality of Life Survey

Take the Quality of Life Survey developed by the Urban Promise Learning Community Class.

DCCB'S newly developed year long curriculum in partnership with Urban Promise Academy works to connect generations and build stronger communities.

The academy’s high-schoolers are in an ongoing class called “Learning Community,” which focuses on instilling responsibility and promoting advocacy of students’ communities.

The curriculum was developed by DCCB Board Facilitator, Angel Osorio.

Dear Camden Resident,

We are high school students from Urban Promise and we are part of a Learning Community this academic year. We are learning about the District Council Collaborative Boards, how to become engaged in the City of Camden, and how to develop meaningful solutions to some of the City’s problems.

As part of this course, we are conducting a survey, which was designed by us (we decided on all of the questions) to find out how Camden City residents feel about the city: Are you satisfied with the services the City provides? What would you like to see changed? Questions like that.

The Urban Promise Learning Community students will analyze the survey answers and present back to the community what we’ve learned. Then, we hope to work with the DCCBs and other community members to advocate on residents’ behalf to change some of the things that were indentified as concerns on the surveys. We hope to be part of any positive change that comes about as part of our analysis and advocacy.
